Notice regarding Pioneer In-Dash Receivers and Spotify as a source via the Spotify app for Android

Dear Valued Pioneer Customer:

We are providing an important update about connectivity with the Spotify app for Android devices when using Spotify as a dedicated A/V source on Pioneer In-Dash Receivers.

Pioneer has confirmed that with the recent updates of the Spotify app for Android, Ver. 8.7.0 and later, the Spotify app no longer supports accessing the Spotify service as a dedicated A/V source (Spotify app control) on Pioneer In-Dash Receivers. Receivers with Bluetooth can still stream audio from the Spotify app via Bluetooth audio while retaining basic audio controls, so we recommend listening to the Spotify service in this manner. Connecting your smartphone to the receiver through the AUX input will also allow audio from the Spotify app to play through your vehicle’s system. Spotify through Android Auto remains unchanged.
